Working Equitation is based on Portuguese farm and ranch work. Work that requires a high level of communication between horse and rider in order to safely and effectively manage livestock.

In 1996, Italy, France and Spain formed Working Equitation into a recognized international sport, eventually working its way to the U.S. in 2008.

High Country Working Equitation was established in 2014 in order to strengthen the bond and finely-tuned communication between horse and rider, while practicing and having fun at the same time.

Training opportunities offered by entities external to HCWE, such as private instructors or other equestrian organizations.

Insurance coverage, organization and fee collection is the responsibility of the host.

Chris has been teaching and training for over 40 years, she teaches WE, in-hand work, Classical Horsemanship, the Art of Garrocha, Western Dressage, all with the correct biomechanics for horse and rider.
